How to Drain Your Dehumidifier

There are three ways to drain your dehumidifier automatically

There are three ways to drain your dehumidifier automatically.

1.Use water tank to drain (manual drain)

This method is recommended when there is no drain hose. When the dehumidifier absorbs moisture, the water is collected in the drain bucket on the front of the dehumidifier. When the water tank reaches its maximum capacity, the water tank will automatically close and the indicator light will flash, and the compressor, fan and negative ion will stop running. But this method requires you to empty the water tank many times, which may be more laborious.

2.Gravity drainage using drainage hose (automatic drainage)

The job of the dehumidifier drain hose is basically to drain the water accumulated during the dehumidification process. A good dehumidifier usually has a special nozzle attached to its rear. An additional drain hose can be attached to this nozzle, effectively increasing the discharge distance of the dehumidifier.

Step 1: Cut off the power of the dehumidifier first to prevent electric shock
Step 2: Remove the bucket of the dehumidifier according to the instructions
Step 3: Unscrew the drain plug connected to the dehumidifier, push the hose into the connection groove of the dehumidifier and tighten the hose to prevent water leakage
Step 4: Lead the other end of the hose to a nearby floor drain, and the dehumidifier must be placed higher than the runoff area. Make sure that the drain is located below the drain of the equipment (because of gravity)
Step 5: Reinstall the water storage bucket and plug in the power supply

Note: If you need to use a garden hose, you can insert the garden hose into the outlet after the dehumidifier and insert the end of the garden hose into the hose connector.

3.Use pump

The pump is divided into an external condensate pump and a built-in condensate pump. Generally speaking, a built-in condensate pump is more convenient. The dehumidifier with pump can run automatically so you can be more worry-free.

Operation method: Find out the water outlet position on the back of the equipment: turn off the water cap counterclockwise, and then insert the water pipe into the drain. (It is recommended that the vertical drainage height does not exceed 5M). Then start the machine and press the “3S-PUMP” button at the same time, the pump on the indicator light is on, and the pump is empty. (Before starting the pump function, connect the water pipe to avoid wetting the floor.)
Note: When not in use for a long time, it is recommended to unscrew the water cap and clean it. To avoid wetting the floor when cleaning or taking over the water cover, please use a water cup to drain the water from the water outlet.
